My Story

I'm a Haitian Canadian author, screenwriter, and communications scholar with research focused on autism. I founded Type and Tell Publishing to help bring underrepresented voices into the spotlight through stories that matter.

My creative work includes the award-winning film La Rebelle and the beloved Haitian classic We Love You Anne. I’ve also written books such as Faint Traces, Unheld, and Fragments of Belonging. These works explore themes of resilience, identity, and healing. I co-authored a children’s book series with my eleven-year-old son, Nathaniel Antoine. Together, we brought The Happy Problem Solvers universe to life, along with spin-offs like Ellie’s Creative Corner and Sam’s Science Surprises. The Happy Problem Solvers is more than just a collection of stories. It’s a shared journey of learning, growth, and joy. Through these books, we blend life lessons with fun adventures that promote resilience, social skills, and the power of positive thinking.

Alongside writing, I’ve spent years researching how families communicate within the Canadian healthcare system, especially in the context of autism. My academic work examines how information, culture, and language shape the care families receive.

This site brings everything together — stories on the page, on screen, and in everyday life.
